# Legacy editors
Legacy editors are still available but have been replaced by better alternatives. Consider using one of the [modern editors](https://www.elastic.co/elastic/docs-builder/docs/3028/explore-analyze/visualize) offered in Elastic such as **Lens**.

  Legacy panel types only appear in the **Add panel** dashboard menu if you already have such panels in your dashboards. If you have never used these panel types, use Lens instead.
